Good attendance is one of the most important factors in the academic success of your child. Please have your child at school every day possible.

Elementary students have access to free breakfast and lunch, but we encourage families to help support the school's access to federal funding by logging into SmartChoice at enroll.tulsaschools.org and clicking on the “Back to School” form.

Uniforms
Updated July 2023
Tulsa Public Schools is a uniform district, however, we are continuing with a relaxed uniform policy for Disney Elementary.
Students must adhere to these policies. Students who elect not to abide by the dress and grooming rules set forth by our policy will be subjected to disciplinary actions. Parents will be contacted to bring appropriate dress for students not adhering to the uniform policy.
Shirts/Tops: Any solid color t-shirt, long sleeve t-shirt, polo shirt, button-up shirt, sweatshirt with no hood can be worn. Shirts MUST BE solid color with no decoration, writing, logo, stripes, etc. The cut of sleeveless tops must not expose any undergarments. Strapless tops are prohibited. Shoulder straps must be a minimum of the width of two fingers. Bare midriffs, low-cut necklines, off the shoulder, or bare backs are prohibited. Shirts must be of appropriate length, cut and meet these requirements while sitting & bending.
Pants/Bottoms: Pants/shorts can be khaki, navy or black. They can be straight legged or joggers. No sweat pants, athletic pants or athletic shorts are allowed. Jeans can be worn BUT they must have no holes, tears or rips. Pants & shorts shall be worn at the waist. Spandex, tights, bike shorts, swim wear & sleep wear are not permitted. Leggings cannot be worn as outerwear & can only be worn under a skirt. Jeggings can be worn in the appropriate colors only if they have back pockets. Shorts & skirts must be of modest length defined as a maximum of 6 inches above the knee of the wearer or not above the fingertips of the wearer with the arm fully extended, whichever is longer.
Footwear: Students need to wear appropriate footwear for protection and hygienic reasons while on school grounds, participating in school activities or using school transportation. House slippers, shower shoes, open toed sandals & flip flops are examples of unaccepted footwear. All shoes must have a back strap across the heel. Shoes with wheels are also not allowed.
Outerwear: Students must not wear outerwear in the classroom (coats, heavy jackets, stocking hats, gloves, scarves, etc.) Students can wear a sweater or sweatshirt with no hood if they want something on in the classroom, but it needs to be a solid color. Hooded sweatshirts (hoodies) & winter jackets cannot be worn in the classroom & must be left in lockers.
Head Coverings/Sunglasses: Scarves, curlers, bonnets, bandanas, sweatbands, hats or other similar head coverings shall not be worn within the school building. Head coverings prescribed by a physician, approved by the schools administration for religious beliefs or for a special school activity will be handled on an individual basis. Sunglasses (unless prescribed by a physician) are not to be worn in class or within the school building.
General Rules:
- Excessively large or baggy clothes and/or excessively tight or clothes that are too small for the stature of the student
- Permitted garments need to be clean, and shall not have holes worn through, slashes or rips
- Suspender straps must be attached as designed & worn on shoulders
- Shirts must be appropriately buttoned
- Zippers on pants must be zipped
- Visible piercings shall be limited to the ear; dog collars, tongue rings, wallet chains, hair picks, chains that connect one part of the body to another or other accessories that pose a safety concern for the student or others
Religious/Heath Accommodations: When a bona fide religious belief or health need of a student conflicts with the school dress code, reasonable accommodation shall be provided. Any student desiring accommodation shall notify the school Principal in writing of the requested accommodation and the basis for the request along with any physician prescription.
Las Escuelas Públicas de Tulsa es un distrito de uniforme, aun así, estamos continuando con la política de uniforme relajada para Disney. Los estudiantes deben seguir estas políticas. Los estudiantes que elijan no seguir las reglas de vestimenta y reglas de cuidado físico puestas en lugar por esta política serán sujetos a acción disciplinaria. Padres serán contactados para traer ropa apropiada a estudiantes que no adhieran a la política de uniforme.
Camisas/Blusas: Cualquier camiseta de color sólido, estilo polo, abotonada, o suéter sin gorro son permitidos vestir. Camisas deben ser de color sólido sin docoracion, letra, logotipo, rayas, etc. El corte de camisas sin manga no debe exponer ropa interior. Camisetas sin tirantes están prohibidas. Los tirantes deben ser de mínimo 2 dedos de ancho. Esternón desnudo, escote bajo, o ropa sin manga o de espalda abierta están prohibidos. Las camisas deben ser apropiadas en largo, corte, o medir estos requisitos mientras los estudiantes estén sentados o agachados.
Pantalones: Pantalones deben ser khaki, azul marino, o negros en color. Pueden ser de pierna recta o estilo jogger. No se permiten pantalones o shorts de ejercicio. Mezclilla se puede usar los viernes solamente sin hoyos, rupturas o desgarros. Los pantalones y shorts se deben usar por la cintura. Pantalones y shorts deben ser usados a la cintura. Spandex, mallas, shorts para bicicleta, ropa para nadar, o dormir no son permitidos. Leggings o mallas no pueden ser usadas como ropa exterior, solo se pueden usar bajo una falda. Shorts y faldas deben ser modestas en largo, definido como 6 pulgadas encima de la rodilla máximo o no pasar encima de las puntas de los dedos cuando el brazo esté completamente extendido, cuál sea mas largo.
Calzado: Los estudiantes necesitan usar zapatos apropiados por protección y motivos higiénicos mientras estén sobre propiedad escolar, participando en actividades escolares, o usando transporte escolar. Zapatillas de casa, zapatos de baño, sandalias abiertas, o chancletas son ejemplos de calzado inaceptable. Todos los zapatos deben tener correa a través del talón. Zapatos con ruedas tampoco son permitidos.
Prendas exteriores: Estudiantes no deben usar prendas exteriores en el salón (chamarras, gorros, guantes, bufandas, etc.) Estudiantes pueden usar un sueter o sudadera sin gorro si gustan usar algo en el salon pero necesita ser de color solido. Sudaderas con gorro (hoodies) y chamarras de invierno no pueden ser usadas en el salón y deben dejarse en el casillero.
Cobertor de Cabeza/Lentes para sol: Bufandas, rizadores, pañuelos, banda para sudor, cachucha o otros cobertores similares no deberán ser usados dentro del edificio. Cobertores de cabeza prescribidos por un médico, aprobados por la administración escolar por creencia religiosa o para alguna actividad escolar especial serán manejadas en base individual. Lentes para sol (excepto prescribidos por un médico) no son permitidos usar en el salón o dentro del edificio.
Reglas Generales:
- Ropa excesivamente grande o suelta y/o apretada, o ropa demasiado pequeña según el tamaño del estudiante
- Ropa permitida debe estar limpia y no tener ollos, rupturas o desgarros
- Ligueros deben estar fijados como diseñados y usados sobre el hombro
- Camisas deben estar apropiadamente abotonadas
- Los zippers de pantalones deben estar cerrados
- Perforaciones visibles serán limitadas al oído; collares para perros, anillos de la lengua, cadenas para cartera, cadenas que conectan una parte del cuerpo a otra o accesorios que presenten riesgo de seguridad a los estudiantes o otras personas
Alojamientos Religiosos o de SaludL Cuando un credo religioso de buena fe o necesidad médica de un estudiante entre en conflicto con la política de vestimenta, alojamiento razonable será proveído. Cualquier estudiante que desee alojamiento deberá notificar a la Directora de la escuela en escrito sobre el alojamiento y la base de la petición junto con cualquier prescripción de parte de un médico, si aplica.
