During the week of April 13th - 17th, all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will begin taking Oklahoma Standardized tests. On Monday and Tuesday, all students will take the standardized math tests. Then, on Wednesday and Thursday, they will take reading tests. Fifth grade students will take Science and Social Studies tests on Friday.
Each night before the test, please make sure your child goes to bed early enough to get plenty of rest. According to WebMD, most 7-12 year olds need at least 9-10 hours of sleep each night.
Also, please make sure that your child arrives on time each day by 7:50 am, so that he/she can have a healthy breakfast before beginning the state test.
Finally, encourage your child to do his or her best, but not to be upset if he/she doesn't know all of the answers. Oklahoma tests are not timed, so the students just need to take their time, read the questions carefully, and try to eliminate obviously wrong answers before choosing an answer.
