Welcome Bulletin
  • Welcome
We welcome you and your child to Disney, and want you to know that we shall make every effort to provide your child with a happy, constructive and safe school year.  Please check in with us in the office when you visit the building.
  • The School Day
The school day is from 7:20 am (first bell) until 2:35 p.m. Doors will open at 7:10 a.m. If your child is sick, please call the school office at 918-925-1480 by 7:30 a.m. If your student needs to leave early for an appointment, you must pick them up before 2:15. All students will be dismissed at 2:35. Parents may wait outside or in your vehicles.
  • Meals

All students enrolled in the elementary grades at Tulsa Public Schools will be eligible to receive breakfast and lunch free of charge during the 2016-2017 school year through the USDA's Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Parents and guardians of elementary level students will no longer need to complete free and reduced meal applications in order for children to participate in the School Breakfast and National School Lunch program.

  • School Uniforms

Students will be expected to wear maroon, navy blue, white or black polo shirts, and black, navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, capris, jumpers or skorts.  Students in Grades 3-6 must wear a belt (black or brown with no decoration).  Shoes must be lace-up, buckle, zip or Velcro (no flip-flops or heelies).

  • Student Safety
Please instruct your children to cross the street with the school guard and assist them in establishing the safest route of walking to and from school.  The driveway by the school is a dangerous area, and we ask all drivers to use extreme caution.  We always tell the children to go directly to their homes when classes are dismissed unless the parents have otherwise instructed.  It is important that a child be as prompt in arriving home after school as he is prompt in arriving at school.  Such promptness will, in part, help to protect your child from unsafe conditions.
  • Homework Policy
Make-up work may be obtained through the office by telephone if the student has been absent three or more consecutive days.  Twenty-four hours should be allowed after the request is made for the teachers to write out the assignments.  It is the student’s responsibility to complete any work missed.
  • Medication
If your child requires medication during school hours, please check with our school health clerk, Mrs. Brown, to obtain a  form which must be signed by the parent.  Remember, we cannot give any medication, even aspirin, without the form “Authorization for administration of Medication During School Day” completed and signed.
  • Special Needs
Every child with special needs has a right, by law (P.L. 949-L42) to a free and appropriate education.  This includes children and adults (0-20) with any type of physical, mental, emotional, or learning handicap.  This is an attempt to locate these children in order to assist in providing the services to which they are entitled.  If you are aware of a handicapped child in need of service, please contact the Education Service Center, 3027 S. New Haven, phone: 746-6800.
